aadhyaatmaa of
puTR-DHARm
of sevaa (service) to
parents and guru
skND-Dev or kaartikey-Dev, second son of shiv-Dev
and paaARvti-Devi has this to say about the practice of puTR-DHARm
(son's DHARm) to one's parents and
guru in skND puraan slok 4.1.36.72-75.
These slok are expanded with
explanatory texts to facilitate understanding of the veDik concepts
from other veDik texts without corrupting the original
sNskrut text of the slok.
"Since a father and mother of a son
undergo various pains and distress ever since the birth of a son, that
RUUAN (debt) to a father and mother cannot be adequately repaid to
them even in a hundred years.
Hence a son should always do what is pleasing
to his father, mother and guru.
When the father, mother and guru
are fully pleased, all the tpsy (penance) is obtained.
sevaa (service) rendered to the
father, mother and guru is called the greatest tpsy
(penance).
If any man does anything against the welfare of
a father, mother and a guru, he will never be successful in any
venture in life.
By propitiating one's father, mother and
guru the sensible man conquers all the 3-lok (worlds of
bhu, bhuv and svar).
By increasing the satisfaction and pleasure of
father, mother and guru a son shines in svARg
(heaven) like the Daevtaao who reside in svARg.
A son who full fulfills his duties to his
father, mother and guru:
-
wins over bhuu-lok (domain
of mortals) through bhkti (devotion) offered to mother,
-
wins over bhur-lok (domains of
piTRuo (ancestors) through service offered to father; and
-
wins over svAR-lok (domains of
Daevtaao which is svARg or heaven) through service
offered to guru.
If the satisfaction of a father, mother and
guru is brought about by a son, it gives the son the accomplishment
of the 4-puruSHARth (4-objectives of life - aARth, kaam,
DHARm and moKSH) in life."

BACKGROUNDER ON
aDHDHYaatmaa of DHARm
DHARm is a
shkti of creator bRHmH. This
shkti is manifested right
at the start of any creation cycle in our bRHmaaND
(cosmic egg or universe) for empowering grandfather
pRjaapati bRHmaa-Dev to do his work of creating
creations. DHARm is part
of primary creative ttv called buDHDHi which is created
out of ttv called mht.
DHARm
is the shkti
which gives foundation to the sustenance provided to all creations through the
process called sthiti.
Without the foundation of DHARm creations will not be able to sustain itself and will thus perish. viSHANu-Dev is ordained by creator bRHmH to establish, protect and make
sure that DHARm is upheld by
creations. To establish, protect and uphold DHARm is one of the primary reasons
for viSHANu-Dev has to take the 10
major avtaar (incarnations) in this mhaa-yug of 4.32 million years and
thousands other aNsh-avtaar which are
partial or secondary avtaar.
DHARm has 4 components: dayaa (compassion), daan (charity),
tpsy (penance) and sty (Truth).
As is a must in creation science,
DHARm has an opposite shkti called
aDHARm.
Every body is familiar with aDHARm
in this current veDik
time era called kli-yug...with
corrupt governments, corrupt stock markets, corrupt trade systems, violent
societies, unjust societies....DHARm shkti
is only at 25 percent of its full power in kli-yug
and hence the tendency of humankind to commit all that is unpleasant and
injurious in life is predominant. DHARm
will decrease as kli-yug
progresses. This year is only kli-yug's
5014th year and has another 426,986 years to go before mankind will start living
again in krut-yug or
sty-yug, In sty-yug DHARm shkti operates at 100 percent
strength and thus one can live in svARg (heaven) in this
pruthvi-lok (earthly domain)....
paaraashARry -muni has this to say the
following about sv-DHARm
(one's own DHARm) of helping others in skND puraan slok 4.1.6:4-6-.
These slok are expanded with
explanatory texts to facilitate understanding of the veDik concepts
from other veDik texts without corrupting the original
sNskrut text of the slok.
"If a strong buDHDHi
(intellect) of helping others is always awake in the heart of good persons,
then all their difficulties perish and wealth is obtained at every step
in life.
The puANy-fl (the reward of DHaaARmik kARm)
obtained by extending help to others cannot be obtained even through the
following:
-
by performing severe tpsy
(penance); or
-
by taking pviTR snaan (sacred
bath) in sacred waters such as that of gNgaa or holy
tiiARth (places of pilgrimages) that destroys paap (sins)
; or
-
by giving plenty of Daan.
The puANy-fl resulting from
helping others and the puANy-fl resulting from Daan
were weighed in one balance by bRHmaa-Dev.
The puANy-fl resulting from helping others was
heavier."
skND-Dev or kaartikey-Dev, second son of shiv-Dev
and paaARvti-Devi has this to say about the practice of sv-DHARm
(one's own DHARm) in one's daily life in skND puraan slok 4.1.35.35-39.
These slok are expanded with
explanatory texts to facilitate understanding of the veDik concepts
from other veDik texts without corrupting the original
sNskrut text of the slok.
"In the life after death, rich
possessions, fathers, mothers, sons, brothers, wives, relatives and others don
not help one. It is only DHARm that
helps one in the life after death.
A living being in the eternal sNsaar cylce of
birth and death is
-
born alone, by itself;
-
dies alone, by itself;
-
enjoys puANy (merit as dividend
and rewards of good kARm) alone, by itself; and
-
has to suffer the bitter kARm-fl
(rewards of kARm) of evil conduct alone by itself.
When a person dies his/her relatives abandon
his/her dead body on the grounds as if it is a piece of wood or a lump of
clay. They turn their faced away from him/her. Only
DHARm will follow his/her aatmaa (soul) that
passes away from the dead body.
Hence one who is desirous of performing
kARm in life to accomplish one's desired wishes should perform
kARm (life activities) by the rules and regulations of
DHARm. Only this way of performing
kARm to conforming to the tenets of
DHARm helps one in the life after death.
By getting sNsARg of
DHARm meaning coexistence and
intimate relationship with DHARm,
one can transcend the impassable tms of avidyaa,
that is the darkness of ignorance due to lack of knowledge of creator
bRHmH. tms of avidyaa eludes one and binds
one to the body thinking body is "I" rather than the truth of "I" being the
aatmaa of the person.
Like ants slowly building up an anthill, one
should without causing any injury to others, go on accumulating puANy
from DHaaARmik kARm which will be
helpful in the life after death."

aaDHyaatmaa of the above slok, through this PVAF web site please
