Conversations with horses:.... A PAINTER TURNED SPIRITUALIST says her small herd of horses has helped write all four of her books... Edmonton Journal: 27 Jun 2009: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada;  John Korobanik; Journal Staff Writer The Gateway 2 Ranch is located about an hour’s drive out of Kamloops: 130 hectares of rolling hills, natural flora and fauna, forests and lakes, vortexes and Liz Mitten Ryan, plus her herd of free-roaming horses who have the desire to write books and steer mankind towards a better future. Call her a horse whisperer or an equine communicator, the artist and author is living her dream life, isolated from most of the worries of the world as she creates her own universe in concert with her horses and her willingness to surrender to a higher power. “It’s a big, big picture and I’m still trying to make sense of it,” Ryan says of the circumstances that drew her and husband Kevin to this piece of land 10 years ago. She gave up her lucrative painting career — she was earning more than $100,000 annually as one of Canada’s top artists — Kevin had to find new clients for his architectural company and their children all moved on with their lives. It was a calling she says she just couldn’t escape — the signs were too plentiful, her belief was too strong and the land simply too beautiful. “I have always had signs,” she says, sitting back in her chair, her feet resting on another, as she recalls her life to this point in time. “I certainly surrendered many years ago to a higher force living through me. I wanted to be a vehicle for a higher voice and do something wonderful in the world.” The move was the door that fully opened her mind to communicate with the horses she loves. “I had no media — do I care what’s going on in the world? This is my world, I’ll create what I want; that’s how the conversations with the horses began. “I was clear enough … that I began to open to the animals and the land and it began to flood me with messages from the natural world.” Those messages ultimately led to one, then two, three and now four books, all written she says with the aid of the horses. Her second book, The Truth According to Horses, is totally their story, channelled though her. Her ever-growing herd, now numbering 15, are “as myriad and different” as humans and these particular horses “are contemplators — they want to communicate, they want to write books, they want to get the message out to people.” Ryan has numerous stories of people who have visited her ranch — some anxious to believe, others skeptical — who have had an epiphany and found themselves suddenly communicating with the horses through their minds. Those visits and requests from many others led her to organize six-day workshops beginning in July. “They are the higher beings,” Ryan says of the animals. “They’re guided, they don’t harm the Earth. … Over time, the more dialogue that went on, I realized they have a whole lot to teach us. We are so arrogant in believing we have the bigger brain and all the answers and are superior to other life. “Horses will teach what is truthful and what is not, what is appropriate and what is not … they’re very good at teaching you how to be truthful, going through your life. It’s time for animals to be recognized as spiritual equals (to mankind).” And more and more humans are accepting that by having spiritual communications with animals and opening their minds to the possibilities that brings. “I think people are spontaneously becoming clairvoyant, telepathic, they’re opening up to these other realities because our vibration is like a tuning fork.” Horses are very high-vibration creatures, she says, leading the way to tuning the human mass consciousness to a point where it will tip and people will have a different understanding of the world around us. That point could come in 2013, when prophesies from many traditions around the world are predicting a huge change in the Earth and in human consciousness. The Q’ero Shamans of Peru, in their prophecy called Pasha Kuti, say it is when the “luminous ones will return” and the world will be turned right side up again. “We are beginning to understand it’s not all about birth to death, this one existence,” Ryan says. “There’s multiple existences, multiple timelines. “People are starting to understand the secret: We’re amazing God-vehicles, we can manifest anything, we can create miracles in our lives. “We just have to believe and we have to ask for it. And we have to focus on it … what you focus on, you manifest.” SPIRITUAL TEACHERS   Liz Mitten Ryan offers six-day workshops "designed to awaken the immortal spiritual self and lead it to a level where peace, joy, connection and clarity are crystallized, helping each participant sep through the gateway to follow their individual journey to enlightenment."
