PVAF has conducted a quick survey of gujaraat prajaapatio
through talks with peoples who have recently immigrated to Canada, USA and UK.
This survey revealed the following of prajaapatio in gujaraat:
1. Vast majority of prajaapatio in gujaraat are
in the districts of surat, navasaari and valsaad. There are prajaapatio
also in shauraashtra.
2. Vast majority of the prajaapatio are workers in non-knowledge
based businesses and industries. This non-knowledge based businesses
and industries are the least paying in the gujaraat economy. This in turn keeps
these prajaapatio in poverty or on the brink of poverty.
3. The reason for the above status appears to be
historical. It appears that prajaapatio historically had been in farming
and skills trades such as pottery and building construction. Farming provided
food for the family only. Skills trades brought in money for the rest of the
life needs.
Farming is now nearly extinct with the move from
villages to towns and cities. Skilled trade has evolved from teaching and
learning trades from father to son to formal education in schools, colleges
and universities. But for reasons to be yet found out, prajaapatio have not
been able to have this formal education to acquire skills required in the
current commerce and economy.
PVAF is presently researching as to the reasons for this to happen
among prajaapatio which puts them at dis-advantage with the rest of the
peoples in gujaraat.
The above is the primary reason why PVAF has embarked upon its primary
activity - the program to empower prajaapatio to get EDUCATION
. And this is the prime purpose of shree chandrakant's
present PVAF yaatraa in gujaraat - to find out what and how
education can be provided to each and every prajaapati in
gujaraat......
PVAF WELCOMES COMMENTS AND MORE INFORMATION ON THIS
TOPIC FROM ONE AND ALL AROUND THE WORLD........YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS PVAF
EDUCATION PROGRAM IS EVEN MORE VITAL .....
