vshiSH`TH yog:
2-15-16 explains stsNg as follows and
which has been converted into a prayer for all
stsNgio:
"Let
pRbhu = bRH`m
grant me daily
stsNg with my
fellow humans
who have knowledge of veD
and
who live selflessly for the welfare of their fellow creations.
stsNg
is one of the four gate-keeper to get
moKSH.
stsNg
enlarges one's GNaan
(knowledge of oneself and one's creator bRH`m),
stsNg
destroys one's avidyaa
(ignorance of bRH`m)
and
stsNg
destroys one's stresses of mns
(human mind faculty which processes information
perceived through all senses to determine what to do and what is right and
wrong)
Whatever be the cost of
stsNg,
however difficult it may be to have
stsNg,
whatever obstacles may be in the way to have
stsNg,
let me not neglect
stsNg
on any day.
stsNg
alone is my light on the path of life.
stsNg
is indeed superior to all other forms of daily practices
based on veD and DHARm like daan
(charity),
severe tps`y (austerity),
yaaTRaa
(pilgrimages to holy places) and
performance of vidhio (rites)
prescribed by veD."
