GUJARAT HIT WITH DROUGHT ALONG WITH QUAKE

Some 12,000 out of 18,000 villages in Gujarat are hit with drought due to second consecutive failure of monsoon rains. Gujarat Government has already spend about 900 crore rupees in water pipelining employing 200,000 people in Shaurashtra which has been the worst hit. 500 crore rupees of aid is estimated to provide relief measures this year.This suffering has been aggravated by the recent quake.
