WEDNESDAY WAS A QAUKE DAY AROUND THE WORLD: mother earth rocks major population centres....BHARAT GOVERNMENT BUDGET DISAPPOINTS QUAKE VICTIMS: no long term initiatives to help.....81 MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS AGAIN POSTPONED IN SHAURASHTRA FOR 3 MONTHS because of quake and continuing drought...... QUAKE USES UPTO 35 PERCENT OF GUJARAT BUDGET FOR SOCIAL & HEALTH PROGRAMS THIS YEAR.....asks 22,000 crore ruppes from Bharat......BUT AMID ALL THIS SUFFERING PEOPLE OF SHAURASHTRA ARE MARCHING FOR EQUAL RIGHTS OF NON-VARNA PEOPLES....manav dharma never fails.......
| WEDNESDAY WAS A QAUKE DAY AROUND THE WORLD: On Wednesday, February 28, 2001 Gujarat quake people experienced 5 tremors of 3.0 to 4.5 intensity. But major population centres around the world also shared Gujarat experience as they got rocked by quakes with the intensity shown in brackets beside their names: Utah USA(3.5), Phillipine(5.9), Samoa Island(5.0), Loyalti Island(5.6), El Salvador (5.5), and Washington State USA(6.8) which suffered multi-billion dollar damage in Seatle. Is the mother earth telling the humans something....
BHARAT GOVERNMENT BUDGET DISAPPOINTS QUAKE VICTIMS: The quake victims in Gujarat felt disappointed at the lack of long term initiatives in Bharat budget to rec-construct and rehabilitate quake hit areas. As well, there is no initiatives in the budget for economic restoration......BJP must be tone-deaf...or forked tongued... or wants Congress to be back in power...
MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS AGAIN POSTPONED IN SHAURASHTRA BECAUSE OF QUAKE AND CONTINUING DROUGHT: 81 municipalities have their election postponed for another three months. This means that these municipalites would have been run for six months by municipal administrators.
QUAKE USES UPTO 35 PERCENT OF GUJARAT BUDGET FOR SOCIAL & HEALTH PROGRAMS: this year up to 35 percent of the planned education, health and other core programs will have to be shelved by Gujarat government to divert funds for quake relief, reconstruction and rehabilitation. Also major portion of the 7,000 crore budgeted for development projects will have to be diverted to quake works. To offset the quake expenses the Gujarat government has requested 22,000 crore rupees quake fund from the Bharat government.
BUT AMID ALL THIS SUFFERING PEOPLE OF SHAURASHTRA ARE MARCHING FOR EQUAL RIGHTS OF NON-VARNA PEOPLES: "Atma-sanman Rath-yatra" meaning a pilgrimage by chariot for equality of souls has been organized by Guraujan Samajwadi Sangh in Shaurashtra. The pilgrimage from different area will start on Sunday, March 4th and end by gathering at Rajkot on March 27th. The rath-yatra aims at bringing together the various castes and tribes who are termed to be outside the 4 varna of the Vedic social system and make them aware of their social rights and previleges and to encourage them to fight for it. The castes and tribes outside the 4 varna of Brahman, Khstriya, Vaisya and Sudra under the Vedic social system had their own domain of existence outside the social structure of the varna system and were to interact with varna system in Vedically prescribed manner so that as not to affect negatively dharmically prescribed activities of the 4 varna. But this aim seems to have ended up in social inequality and injustice. |
