WELCOME DEGAM SAMAAJ
TO PVAF AND THE WORLD
In August 2004 SRii Gulabbhai Morarji Mistry,
a retired 87 year old solicitor from London, UK contacted PVAF for hosting his
native gaam (village) called Degam located
in gujraat, India on the PVAF web site under
LOCAL SAMAJ page.
1997:
PRAJAAPATI VISHVA AASHRAM FOUNDATION (PVAF)
was established as a non-profit, volunteer driven, world wide, borderless,
timeless, community platform on which all communities in the world can be
empowered to create resources for educating all the children in the world for
employment in the evolving knowledge-based markets around the world; thus
stopping generational poverty due to illiteracy and creating family growth,
prosperity and well-being.
In compliance with the above PVAF mission , PVAF's primary mandate is to host
all smaajo (communities) who perform social services to improve welfare and
well-being of the peoples in their community. This hosting gives each smaaj
communication, publicity, fundraising and inter-human friendship and alliance
tool not only among the community itself but also world wide 24 hours a day all
year around..
In keeping with this mandate, today PVAF is
pleased to announce the hosting of the DEGAM
page on the LOCAL SAMAJ page
on this PVAF we site....
Please click on the next line..... to read the communication between
SRii Gulabbhai Morarji Mistry from London,
UK and SRii Champaklal Dajibhai Mistry of
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada who is the lead volunteer of the
PVAF web site development and PVAF

Subject: Degam Overseas Welfare Trust & Prajaapati
Marriage Web Page on PVAF web site .
Dear Champakbhai,
I read your message copied to me regarding welcoming to PVAF prajapatio in Kenya
and how they can have their own Kenya page on PVAF web site.
Here in UK, the Prajapatis have created a Trust known as
Degam Overseas Welfare Trust.
This was established during its inauguration meeting in Leicester on 28th March
1999.
All families whose forefathers originated from Degam
village, gujraat, India gathered together and resolved to work
together for the upliftment of the village and poor villagers living in India
whatever their caste, creed or religion. The only criteria is that he or she is
Degam resident and genuinely needy and without any resources whatsoever.
About 400 elders ladies youth and children gathered together, discussed what and
how we could uplift the village Degam and collected
£2554.00 donation for spending in Degam.
We have since then had three more gatherings in successive years and I will give
details of the 5th gathering being held in Leicester on
the 19th September 2004.
We will be pleased and thankful if we are allowed to
use your website to publicize our formation and seek donations from any one who
is sympathetic to our cause whether of Degam origin or not.
Degam Overseas welfare Trust is being registered as a charitable institution in
UK and works in close cooperation with Degam Prajapati
Samaj which is also being registered as a charity in India.
I know that similar activities are going on for welfare of Vesma and Kumbhar
Falia in gujraat, India.
It also occurs to me that lot of our youth find it increasingly difficult to
find their marriage partners. The youths have now transcended the caste barriers
in their choice of marriage partners and in a sense lost some of the security
which their parents provided by screening the family of the partners.
Some of our youths still respect the tradition and seek their parents to choose
their partners in the traditional way.
Could we not provide them a "Prajaapati Shaadi web page" on PVAF web site type
of service for Prajapatis worldwide where the youngster looking for spouse are
asked to subscribe?
I know of other communities who have started this experiment.
Let me know if I can help. I am a 87, a retired solicitor living in London
during summer and India during winter.
In the meantime, I met Chandrakant Dahyabhai Lad of Calgary, Alberta, Canada who
is PVAF's ambassador for PVAF Gujraat Education Program when he was in London
recently. He has been speaking very highly of you.
Om,

pRANaam gulabkaakaa:
I am very happy to read your email below...that you are giving us - the younger
prajapatio - an inspirational example of the bright aatmaa-jyot that your
generation possessed. This aatmaa-jyot has empowered my generations and the
following generations come out of poverty that we were entrenched in gujraat....
You are the same age as my father, Dajibhai Makanji Mistry of khaari vadoli, who
passed away in 1989...and from his stories about how your generation was so
brave to go out to lands of jungles, different cultures and unknown
languages...and all that your generation has done was also based on very little
education of those early 1900's...
I do not know how our generation will ever pay our debts to you and your
generation for all that we and our children and grandchildren are today.....and
have today because of yours and your generation's bold travels of life...
And especially you must have a phenomenal aatmaa-jyot to be a solicitor in your
times where Indians had to really struggle not only from poverty but also
political suppressions....my personal pRANaam to you......
I would very much like to know you personally and also your
autobiography....just to be inspired to do more in life and to set you up as an
shinning example to follow for your current generation.....
I have talked to PVAF webmaster Bhavin Mistry about you and your request for
Degam page on PVAF web site and he will be more than pleased to do so this
week....
Please let me know what you will like to call this web page...you can go under
LOCAL SAMAJ menu on PVAF web site...and see for yourself some of the pages like
bilimora which is quite active....You will have following capability to use for
the Degam page:
- You and anyone else whom you wish will have access to post any news on Degam
page.
- Any news or informaton can be posted anytime and from anywhere in the
world.
- For posting the news you would need a computer with an internet
connection.
- You do not need any IT expertise to post the news. Instructions for
posting will be sent to you with access code for posting.
- Any news or information can be posted on Degam page. The only requirement is
that any material posted should be non-offensive to anybody and of the type
which serves to improve well-being and welfare of humanity with a spirit of
co-existence among all diversity of humanity that exists on this planet earth.
- Photos can be posted in the PHOTO ALBUM in the menu bar and again
instructions on posting will be given. The photos can be linked to any news
item.
The above is a quick response to you...I will respond to your other ideas
such as Prajaapati shaadi page on PVAF web site as soon as I can.....
In the meanwhile nmskaar gulabkaakaa and take care of yourself....let me know if
there is any other sevaa I can do for you.....and I feel blessed that we will
get to know each other as we progress to empower you to publicize your Degam
project....
