5TH GET TOGETHER BUFFET LUNCH OF
DEGAMWASI IN LEICESTER, UK

Dear Degamwasi brothers, sisters and elders:

The Trustees of Degam Overseas Welfare Trust cordially invites you to attend our 5th get together of Degamwasis and Buffet Lunch this year on:

Sunday the 19th of September 2004
from 11am till 4.00pm
at
The Thurmaston Community Centre
Silverdale Drive (via A46 Melton Road, off Humberstone Lane)
Thurmaston, LEICESTER, UK

Programme for the gathering is:

11. 00 -12.00 noon:
Reception and get together

12. 00 noon - 12.30pm :
Light entertainment

12.30 pm – 2.00pm :
Report of last year’s activities, discussion on future activities,
registration of the Trust with the Charity
and
 next year’s function

2.300 PM – 4.00pm:
 Lunch and disperse

After our first get together, our Trust have so far carried out much work including:

  1. Replaced the old crematorium ( samshan ) structure by a new one;
     
  2. Provided new computer, printer, musical instruments and sports equipment to the school;
     
  3. Installed a water pump for the girls’ school;
     
  4. Commenced and implemented Programme to seek sponsors who give donations to educate at least one poor and deserving child studying in Degam school;
     
  5. Commenced work to improve and extend the dilapidating Laxmi Narayan Temple.

All this work is being done with the cooperation of Degam Prajapati Samaj which is now being registered as a charity.

The Trust particularly seeks to enlist new enthusiastic volunteers to carry our work forward.

Donation of £1250 was received abd thr Trustees have now decided to meet at the same hall in Leicester on the 7th November 2004 to adopt the constitution and procced with itas registration with Charity.

THe Building Project of Community Hall and refurbishment of the old LaxmiNarayan Temple will also be discussed ..
Any Degam wasi is encouraged to volunteer and attend the meeting at the hall between 12 Noon to 3 PM. SOft drinks and light refreshment will be provided to those who attend.
