5TH GET TOGETHER BUFFET LUNCH OF
DEGAMWASI IN LEICESTER, UK
BLESSED AS RUSHI PACHEM
- Degam's get together in Leicester, UK was moderately attended; it turned
out that 19th September was a holy day for our ladies: it was "rushi pachem ".
- The Trustees of Degam Overseas Welfare Trust
has set out the following objectives for the near future:
- We are going ahead with the registration of Degam Overseas Trust
Fund with Charity.
- Degam Prajapati Samaj in Degam is also being registered as charity in
India.
- This will facilitate transfer of funds and immediate commencement of
Building Project of community Hall in Degam.
- The Trustees are meeting again on Sunday the
7th November, 2004 in Leicester to finalize the Trust deed. The
meeting will be held at Thurmaston Community Hall,
Silverdale Drive, Leicester, UK, between 12 noon and 2.00 pm.
- In order to achieve the above objectives
The Trustees of Degam Overseas Welfare Trust
need following from Degamians and others who are willing to participation in
the programs of Degam Overseas Welfare Trust:
- We earnestly seek volunteers, fresh ideas, and in particular
encouragement from those Degamians living in USA, Canada, South Africa, East
Africa and Australia.
- We will be pleased to receive any communication from any Degamian from
any where who happen to visit the site.
- Any Degamwasi is most welcome to attend the meeting of the Trustees on
Sunday the 7th November 2004 in Leicester; ask

Community Hall, Silverdale Drive, Leicester, UK between 12 noon and 2.00 pm.

THE MILESTONES ACHIEVED
IN THE MARCH STARTED TO BRING CHANGE TO DEGAM......
After the first get together of the Degam
Overseas Welfare Trust, the Trust have so far carried out much work
including:
- Replaced the old crematorium ( samshan )
structure by a new one;
- Provided new computer, printer, musical
instruments and sports equipment to the school;
- Installed a water pump for the girls’ school;
- Commenced and implemented Programme to seek
sponsors who give donations to educate at least one poor and deserving child
studying in Degam school;
- Commenced work to improve and extend the
dilapidating Laxmi Narayan Temple.
All this work is being done with the cooperation of
Degam Prajapati Samaj which is now being registered as a charity.
