Seventeen Prajapatio families in Alberta were celebrating Diwali
in Calgary, Alberta on a October day in 1997. At this Diwali milan, one
of us, by name of Shree Dineshbhai Mistry,
who is a medical doctor practicing in Golden, British Columbia, suggested two
things. One was that we as Prajapatio are not going anywhere anyfar if we
do not re-learn the forgotten Ved. The other thing Dineshbhai suggested
was that Prajapatio should have a web site to bring together all Prajapatio
in the world on a common platform to know each other and to share and live a Vedic
life with each other.
The first suggestion of re-learning Ved was implemented starting
January 1, 1998 by Shree Prajapati Mandal of Western
Canada. This was done by having Ved satsang. Initially the
satsang was held in Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta on every last Saturday of the
month. Then as the interest grew among youths, the Ved satsang was held
every Sunday between 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm. This Saturday satsang grew into
teleconferenced satsang between Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Golden, Toronto and
Hamilton - all across Canada. For the last year or so this Ved satsang
now happens every day between 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm Mountain Standard Time of
Canada. Participants of these Ved satsang move in and out of the satsang
as per individual wishes and desires. These Ved satsang are of group
discussions or one on one discussion of private and personal nature. The one on
one Ved satsang also sometimes continues through email and chat lines on
the internet.
The second suggestion of a web site was implemented by Bhavin
Champaklal Mistry from Edmonton, Canada. The first static web page
was published on internet in the first week of January 1998. I still remember
Dineshbhai talking to me about the web site in the middle of a very spirited
raas being played around us. It was even hard to hear and talk with all that
loud raas song and music. I remember dragging young Bhavin to us and asking him
if a web site was possible. Bhavin said why not...... And Bhavin kept his
promise. Thus this web site was born.........
The web site has undergone three naam-karan vidhio (name giving ceremonies)
with Prajapati Vishva Ashram as the latest
name. Bhavin has persevered with help from his fellow young Prajapatio in
expanding the web site every year. This year Bhavin totally re-constructed the
web site to be data based for enabling interactive relationship the Prajapatio
wanted through this web site. Bhavin and his co-volunteer Kalpesh
Subhashbhai Lad of Calgary are continuing to beautify the web site
and provide interactive modes through new chat room, new message
board,,,,,etc..
WHAT DOES PRAJAPATI VISHVA ASHRAM MEAN:
A Prajapati is a grand...grand.. grand.. child of Grandfather Prajapati
Brahmaa who is the first born of Para-Brhmah at the beginning of each
creation cycle which last for 8.64 billion years. Vishva means universe. Ashram
means a place where a person can take refuge to learn Ved, learn about
life, solve life's problems and practically fulfill any life desire through the
interactive mode with others in the same ashram. Thus,
Prajapati Vishva Ashram IS where every body in the universe would want to be to fulfill
any or all life wishes and desires one may have.
Such an ashram can only exists on one principle - interactive
human relationship based on dharma to support each other
unconditionally.
And that is how this web site called Prajapati Vishva Ashram has grown into a
tangible organization from its original cyberspace existence. Since January 1997
many have contributed a tremendous amount of their time, wealth and lives
without asking for anything in return from Prajapati Vishva Ashram. In a short
span of 4 years we have many social programs going in Gujarat - believed to be
the origin location of the roots of some 2.5 million Prajapatio in the world.
These social program of Prajapati Vishva Ashram have started benefiting a lot of
Prajapatio at the grassroots levels in their own locations on this planet
earth.....Our expansion into space is yet to come........
All of the above has been achieved through unconditional samaj seva
through the spirit of sva-dharma from the hearts, mind, body and aatmaa
of a lot of Prajapatio around the world....Saying so I feel a little bit ashamed
to see the Ashram News Board on this web site without any news this week. The
reason I find out is the reporters who have volunteered to date were too
busy......attending to their own lives.... Can all
others pitch in to give respite to these sevako (volunteers).....I pray for this
to Bhagvan......the answer will be yes..... from many......

Bhagvan says "what you will sow so shall you reap... otherwise you
will watch the world just roll by"....This web site
belongs to all who call themselves Prajapatio. Anything that happens on this web
site is from the volunteerism of Prajapatio themselves. This volunteerism is of
two types - for sva-dharma and for seva for your fellow human beings. Through
each of these two types of volunteerism, your karma brings you karma-phal of the highest
kind....spreading of knowledge. .Being a news writer, compiler
and reporter on this Ashram News Board will get you that karma-phal.....and also
let you develop your writing and reporting talents given to you by Bhagvan.....
and who knows.... somebody somewhere sometime.... may like your writing and
......may also like you ........and may be a new
destiny that is.....awaiting for you......starts.......but not if you
do not start writing.........
Namaskaar with a prayer that YOUR ATMA-JYOT WILL
LIGHT UP ASHRAM NEWS BOARD.
